Abstract
Perforation of the nasal septum indicates a direct communication between the right and left nasal cavity by a hole in the nasal septum.
Perforations rarely heal spontaneously, but fortunately most do not cause symptoms and therefore do not require any treatment. But in cases of much crusting and severe nasal bleeding, repair of perforation should be considered.
The first objective in the management of septal perforations is to cure the causative disease process, the second in to encourage natural healing of the lesion and, if the first two objectives cannot be met, the third is consider performing a
surgical
repair.
Recently, we experienced three cases of septal perforations about 1.0¡¿1.0cm, 1.0¡¿1.2cm, 1.2¡¿1.2cm in diameter which was closed by tragal cartilage with perichondrium graft with good postoperative results, So we reported these cases with review
of the
literature.
